Localization Study of a Non-local Energetic Damage Model
The contribution presents an analysis of a rate-independent non-local damage model, recently proposed by Mielke and Roub́ıček (2006). An analytical as well as numerical solution of a simple one-dimensional bifurcation problem is performed, demonstrating that, for the elementary localization test, the model is free of pathological features.
متن کاملProgressive Damage Analysis of Laminated Composites using Continuum Damage Mechanics
In this paper, progressive damage and global failure of composite laminates under quasi-static, monotonic loading are investigated using 3D continuum damage mechanics. For this purpose, a finite element program has been developed using an eight-node 2D layered element including layer-wise plate theory. Damage analysis of a single orthotropic layer under various uniform in-plane and transverse l...
متن کاملAspects of DNA Damage from Internal Radionuclides
In this chapter, there is insufficient space to exhaustively review the research which has been carried out on internal radionuclide effects. I hope only to highlight evidence which shows that internal radionuclides cannot be assessed by the current radiation risk model, and to suggest some research directions that may enable a new model to be developed, one which more accurately quantifies the...
متن کاملAn Elastic-Visco-Plastic Damage Model : From Theory to Application
An energy-based two-variable damage theory is applied to Bodner's model. It gives an elastic-viswplastic damage model. Some theoretical details are descnied in this paper. The parameters identification procedure is discussed and a complete set of parameters for an aluminium is presented. Numerical modelling of the laboratoly tests are used to validate the model. An industrial aeronautic rod fab...
متن کاملa continuum/discontinuum micro plane damage model for concrete
analysis and prediction of structural response to static or dynamic loading requires prediction of concrete response tovariable load histories. the constitutive equations for the mechanical behavior of concrete capable of seeing damage effects or crack growth procedure under loading/unloading/reloading was developed upon micro-plane framework. the proposed damage formulation has been built on t...
